From Preparation to Campus: Desizn Circle Students Begin a New Chapter

At Desizn Circle, this time of the year is always deeply special. It is the season when dreams begin to look real - when students move from preparation tables, sketchbooks, mock tests, portfolio reviews, and late-night practice sessions into actual campuses, classrooms, studios, and orientation programs. Over the past few weeks, we have been flooded with happy pictures from students across India and abroad - smiling faces, ID cards, hostel rooms, campus corners, and those unforgettable first-day moments. Every photograph carries emotion, relief, pride, and the quiet story of hard work that led there.

This year has been one of the most memorable in the journey of Desizn Circle. Around 60 students have made it to NIFT Delhi alone, which is a truly extraordinary accomplishment. NIFT Delhi remains one of the most sought-after design institutions in the country, and securing admission there is a major milestone for any design aspirant. Even more significantly, around 155 students have earned seats across NIFT campuses overall, making this a landmark year for our student community. These are not just numbers. They represent years of effort, perseverance, discipline, and belief.

Along with NIFT, our students have also secured admissions into an impressive range of respected institutions including NID, IIT, IIIT, CEPT, NSUT, BITS, DES, Pearl Academy, IIAD, UID, TDV, Marangoni, UPES, WUD, and ISDI (Atlas). This wide spread of colleges shows the diversity of student aspirations today. Some dream of fashion, some of communication design, some of product design, interior design, strategic design, technology, architecture, innovation, or interdisciplinary creative careers. What makes us proud is not only the names of these colleges, but the fact that our students are entering them with clarity, confidence, and a strong foundation.

The truth is that getting into these institutions is not easy at all. Colleges such as NIFT, NID, CEPT, IIT, IIIT, NSUT, and BITS are highly competitive and demand much more than conventional academic performance. Even strong private institutions such as Pearl Academy, IIAD, UID, WUD, ISDI, UPES, and Marangoni expect students to demonstrate originality, dedication, awareness, and creative thinking. Entrance exams and selection processes today test observation, imagination, problem-solving ability, visual communication, time management, and the ability to think independently under pressure. In many cases, students are also required to present portfolios, interviews, situation tests, or design-based responses that reflect their personality and process - not just their marks.

That is why the achievement of these students deserves to be celebrated fully. Many of them have worked hard for one year or even two years to reach this point. Some joined Desizn Circle when they were in Class 11, beginning their preparation early and slowly building the skills and mindset required for a competitive design future. Others joined in Class 12 or after passing out of 12th , balancing school studies, board exam pressure, and entrance preparation at the same time. Some took a gap year, making the courageous decision to dedicate focused time to their goals. We have also had students preparing for master’s admissions, reminding us that growth and ambition do not belong to only one age group. Every student came with a different background and timeline, but all of them shared one powerful quality: they kept going.

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey is watching students transform. We often meet them at a stage when they are full of questions - unsure of their potential, uncertain about the future, and sometimes overwhelmed by the competition around them. Over time, they begin to evolve. Their thinking sharpens. Their confidence grows. Their work becomes more mature, more personal, and more fearless. We see them working day and night, practicing relentlessly, correcting mistakes, learning to receive feedback, rebuilding ideas, and refusing to give up. Their success is never accidental. It is built through consistency.

What makes this generation especially remarkable is the world they are entering. The creative industry today is not only competitive - it is changing rapidly because of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. AI is transforming the way people ideate, visualize, communicate, research, and design. For students entering college now, success will not come from rejecting technology, but from learning how to work intelligently with it. The future belongs to students who can combine human creativity with technological fluency.

This is exactly why design education matters more than ever. AI can generate outputs, but it cannot replace empathy, lived experience, cultural understanding, critical judgment, and original imagination. These young students will need to become thinkers as much as makers. They will need to ask better questions, develop stronger perspectives, and use tools - including AI - without losing their own voice. In a world where automation is growing, authenticity will become even more valuable.
